Econ NetVert is an open-source source code converter for the conversion of .NET programming languages. Econ NetVert converts code fragments, or whole data and directories, between the languages C# and Visual Basic.NET. Econ NetVert can be downloaded in the DevCenter (registration is necessary).
Econ NetVert is based upon the open-source project ICSharpCode. Econ NetVert extends ICSharpCode with a pre- and post-converter logic. Via this 3-stage conversion, source codes are syntactically converted in a correct way. This results in the converted source code behaving almost identically to the original code. For the developer this means that only a minimum of post-processing of the converted source code is required for a very neat compilation. |
 | | The graphical interface serves primarily for the conversion of code fragments or classes. Data can also be directly opened, customized, converted and re-saved. Additionally, it is possible to convert whole directories via the register “Convert Files”. |
 | | Econ NetVert contains a Visual Studio 2005 add-in. Therewith projects can be converted easily and kept up to date. |
 | | The command line tool from Econ NetVert can be deployed in script data for automatic language conversion. It is especially suitable for the construction of installation routines. Thereby, examples of code, or code drafts, can be delivered convenient in VB.NET and C#. |

ICSharpCode
Econ NetVert uses functions from the assemblies ICSharpCode.SharpRefactory.dll (.NET 1.1), ICSharpCode.SharpRefactoryVB.dll (.NET 1.1) and ICSharpCode.NRefactory.dll (.NET 2.0) from the ICSharpCode open-source project.
